2014
The races in 2014 were memorable, with a beautiful day, excellent views of Mt. Hood, random goats kept in their fences, lots of fantastic runners with happy and tired faces at the end, growlers for the folks doing the double with the Hagg Hybrid, tons of bagels (literally) from Jazzy Bagels, running tours of Boring, cheering fans, mooing cows, great aid station crews, dancing pigs (not really, but that would be really neat if we could arrange it), and generally a fine time by all. We think one of the coolest things all day was when our marathoner from Japan, Hajime Nishi, who was one of the finest gentlemen we have ever had the opportunity to meet, was surrounded by high school and middle school runners for his last half mile, and then when he came out onto the track for the final part, our announcer played the Japanese National Anthem for him. He was emotionally moved, as were all of us there, and it made the whole day a most incredible experience and one we won't soon forget. New York, Chicago and Boston can keep their big races....it is the little things like this that really touch you and make it an experience that lasts.
2015
New races in 2015 included the Ultra Boring Ultra Marathon (50K), the Really Boring Relay, the Not Even Close to Boring 5K and all races being available through the Virtually Boring Race Series. We also teamed up with the Celebration in Boring (at the Boring Schools in beautiful downtown Boring) to make it a totally Boring day. BM #2 had runners from Canada, 19 U.S. states, Washington, D.C. and Spain! This incredibly beautiful day saw runners reach many new milestones: first ultras, marathons, and half marathons completed, 2 wonderful ladies made Boring their 100th marathon (and both ran with #100 bibs to commemorate the event!), one runner celebrated her birthday with us, several Maniacs and Fanatics added another state to their accomplishments, and some runners made Boring their first first-place race! We were so happy to celebrate all these moments and milestones with each of you! Thanks for making our second running a fantastic day to remember!
2016
Just when you thought we couldn't get any more Boring, well, we did and the 3rd time was a charm! We were more boring than ever with a new route starting in beautiful downtown Boring and running from Boring Station Trailhead Park primarily along the Springwater Trail (see the route and aid station info tab for more details). We were also back to 3 races (instead of 5) like 2 years ago, but newly included a free kids' 1 mile fun run in which 2 super cute and incredibly well-trained goats participated! 26 states and 3 countries were a part of our races, with one virtual 8K participating in Afghanistan. (Thanks for your service AND participation!) This one was the best yet. Thank you to our sponsors, participants and volunteers!
2017
Year 4 brought many new folks to our races as other local events were cancelled due to different issues, including fires causing poor air quality in the days before. We lucked out and had perfect weather on race day, which was cause for extra celebration! The goats were back and cute as ever. We had a couple of extra exhibitors and vendors at the races this year who were fabulous and added so much to the finish line festivities. Thank you to all who came out to make the day perfect!
2018
The 5th running of the races was our Back in Black event, where we gave out black shirts like our first year. As usual, unlimited bagels, visits from our goats at the finish area, a kids run, and the same music not heard since Studebakers were the latest thing. But we did bring back the relay this year, our medal was super cool, the weather was a bit wet and cool at first but cleared off nicely, and our number of entries soared. We had runners from 22 states and 7 different countries, and all left here impressed with our Boring little village and race. Thank you to all who traveled from near and far to be a part of this event this year.
2019
Year 6 brought a fair amount of rain, but it couldn't dampen our spirits! Runners from far and wide gathered to gnosh on bagels and get selfies with the cutest goats around after finishing their races. Amazing times and incredible people. Thanks again to our sponsors, participants and volunteers!
2020
Year 7...We did not run this year. We will not talk about 2020 and the mess that it was. We will be back!
2021
8 really is great! What a great year for the Boring Races as we were back to sort of normal, with over 400 of you flocking to Boring to once again conquer the fun of the marathon, half, and 8k races. Although things were different, masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and spacing out the races helped with allowing us to get our permits and do our part to get things back to normal.
2022
Year 9 was the year of the fires. With 3 different forest fires within 25 miles of our race it was too much for Portland General Electric and the power lines that run along the race course. We are sad to have another year taken from us, but we will rebound like we did in year 8.

Year 10
2024
What will year 11 hold for us? Who knows, but you should sign up and join us!
